21st May 2012
Windsurfing: Alton reservoir
Wind Direction: N
Wind Stength: F3-5
Surf / Sea State: flat
Air Temperature: cold
Sea Temperature: cold
Weather: cold
Max Speed: 23.8kts (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 7Nn (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

On the water at 5.30, 4 or 5 out ramming as the gust hit F5 the trees at the dam end caused big shadows and ruined any speed runs.
Tried the 135 Hawk with the H2 .what a fantastic sail the Pryde H2 is, (better than my previous RS' I think)
But the holes shortened the runs too much.
Switch to the bigger RRd Fireride and had a great sail tanking up to the point then bombing downwind runs.
Top speed was 23.8 kts which was poor, but the Fireride is slow to accelerate, so was always running out of room in the tree shadows. Stayed on the water the whole session but came of the water too early, thought it close at 7.00 but could have had another 30mins! bugger....it was still blowing...
Gybing the wide boards much better now, just need to concentrate on board speed thru the gybe.
Anyone thinking of buying a H2..go ..its a great sail
